I'm looking for a 7 month long internship from november 2008.
I see the internship as a big part of my education to become a great project manager and an opportunity to develop what I've learned here at Hyper Island. I'd like to do my internship at an agency where I can get the opportunity to learn from and work with inspiring people and be a part of a good team. And of course where they have a coffee vending machine with awesome coffee.
I'm not afraid of new challenges. The world is a big place and I want to see every part of it

Currently I'm located in the city of my dreams, nothing less than New York! It is truly great being here and excperience everything that comes in my path, but what is even greater is my internship at the amazing agency droga5, as a digital producer intern. I must say that this is the best time of my life so far, I'm learning more than ever and it sure will be something I'll remember forever. Meeting new great people and working with highly professionals, it is indeed a good start. But the best is yet to come.

So who am I? Let me introduce myself:

My name is Madonna, I’m currently studying Digital Media at Hyper Island in Stockholm, with a specialization in management. Always full of energy and eager to learn new things, that sounds like me.
I'm an outgoing person who tries my very best to be happy and make my friends smile. I love meeting new people from all over the world. Being raised with two cultural backgrounds I believe I have a better understanding for people and their differences and that also makes me interested in who they are.
I am driven, motivated and I value good teamwork. Working together with people who are passionate about what they do and share the same motivation is important. Organization and structure, yes that goes hand in hand with me. My imagination has no limit, I love being creative in all different kind of ways, especially when it involves doing it by hand.
Other than that I hate snow and cold. I speak four languages, love to do unexpected (read: planned) things and I can be a real geek when it comes to technical gadgets, And yes, I buy unnecessary stuff because they're beautiful.

So here at Hyper Island we are doing 500 things at the same time, being in charge of our own education, working on large realistic projects, facing real clients, learning all about team building, group dynamics and how to solve problems in groups. And it’s not only about what we do but also how we do it. Talk about learning to take responsibilitydot

Project 6Project 6 Our brief was to create an interface for SOL 3000, which is a collection of all the social science books. The interface is to be used on a smartboard (interactive whiteboard) as an educational support for junior high school students.

The target group to use this interface is teachers. Our concept was to create a user-friendly navigation and structure, immediately recognizable from the books, simple to use but still inspiring. I was managing this project with one designer and one tech developer. During five weeks we came up with a concept, an interface design and created a prototype.
Good communication with the client and teamwork made this project successful. The client was delighted with the delivery and we got really positive feedback about the work and our cooperation with themdot

In a team of one art director, one designer, one tech developer and me as a project manager we had five weeks to work with this project. It was a big challenge to make it on time and some of us in the group worked with another project simultaneous. To come up with a completely new visual identity in less than five weeks is hard work, and to make the rest needed good planning, communication and motivationdot

Project 1Project 1 The assignment was to build something that had to do with sound and light. We built a turntable that plays different sounds depending on the light it receives. The user can scratch and create music.

In a group of five people we had to come up with an idea and create it in three weeks. With light and sound sensors, photo resistors and an arduino board connected to a computer we built our turntable. Our biggest challange was the time and no technical knowledge in the group. With a lot of research, help and testing we made it work. The class had an exhibition and we got really positive feedback for our turntabledot

Project 2Project 2 The assignment was to come up with a brand new business concept, make a budget, graphic identity and write a real business plan. We presented the concept to investors and the bank in hope of make it real.

With five people in each group we had to come up with 50 business concepts in a week and then choose one to work with. Our concept was Internet radio for the car. Using 3G technology and a cooperation with the Internet radio service Last.fm our product allows the user to create a unique radio channel in the car. The challange was to come up with a brand new business concept that was possible to do and could work in every aspect. We had to do a lot of research, mostly about the market and the technology. When we presented the concept they liked our idea but wanted to see a working prototype so we got financed from the investor to build thatdot

Project 3Project 3 We got a brief for a voting campaign about global warming. Our assignment was to come up with digital concept ideas of how to make people find the site and vote.

We came up with several ideas on how to spread the campaign on the Internet using different channels such as social networks, news sites, blogs etc. Every channel got their own function that would spread the campaign. Along with that we did a lot of research about the Internet, the market and target analysis of different groups of people using the Internet. Working in pairs we were at the ad agency Åkestam Holst for four weeks. After observations and interviews at the agency we delivered a final report about our experiences, analysis and suggested strategy for the agency. The aim was to gain greater insight in how the digital media industry works and that was exactly what we did being so near the industry.
